1989 high ranger bucket controls need bleeding

Like the man said, pull the boot off the upper control and check the linkage, could be too much sawdust built up creating on obstruction to full/smooth linkage control. Frozen wet sawdust in this weather would not surprise me. I'm sure Doug at Aerial Hydraulic Repair could talk you through it if...

    chain grinding wheels

I prefer a file ground chain but if you hit a rock or a nail a grinder is the way to go. I used the pink wheels and the grey wheels for twenty-plus years. If you grind reaaal slowly they don't heat up. A few years back I picked up a few of the Cyclone grinding wheels. A bit pricey but a good...

Ramps to drive a stumper in the back of a truck

It comes down to an issue of how long the ramps have to be to create an angle the stumpers can climb. Then there's the strength to weight ratio. Some members have added a carrier to the front of a truck that slides into a Reese receiver. Good luck, Matt.

    Vines up a chimney

Cut em off and start pulling. I suggest you evaluate how far into the mortar the vines have grown. If you give a little tug and it looks like you'll rip out the mortar, unless you also charge for new tuck point, I'd pass. Good luck Ricky.

    Ford F Super Duty

Maybe you fellas can help me with this. I'm in the process of restoring an'89 F Super Duty, destined to be a chipper dump. This truck would equal what is called an F450 nowdays. Parts are quite easy to find: Engine EFI 460, disk brakes all around, a feature I like. The one replacement part I...

    lifespan of a climber

    57. I have aches and pains, but feel better when I climb. Mostly I climb now for the exercise or to pick up the pace of a job. Climbing keeps the abs tight and helps with my herniated disk. I hired a younger guy to do the difficult climbs. My 17-year-old son has also started climbing, it's time...

burnt out and ready to sell out...

Sounds like you need to hire a climber. Step back and let your crew do the work. Charge more, you're worth it and they can afford it. You do a difficult job and get it done carefully and skillfully. I've been doing this for 30 years and occasionally feel the way you described. Most of the time...
