2019 Carlton 7015 engine belt jumping.

I would bet it is the PolyChain. If it sounds like a banging this is what it is. You have to move the cutter wheel bearings to tighten it. Make sure you loosen them slightly then turn the adjustment bolts the same amount and retighten the hold down bolts. They aren't going to have to...

buying my first chipper, Bandit 75xp? or vemeer bc700xl?

You will outgrow both machines very quickly! I realize you say you only do trimming - but why limit yourself? A 6" machine is really only good on 3" stuff. And that better not have branches and crotches in it - or you will be trimming everything down to straight little sticks. Get a...

    Value of Carlton 4400-4

Be careful on these old ones - a couple things that must be taken care of. 1st - and most important - are the jackshaft bearings pillow block style where all 4 are carrying the speed of the jackshaft or are they flange type where only the outside 2 carry the jackshaft and the inside 2 carry...

    Carlton 7015

On the remote it is probably the E-Stop. Don't buy it from Carlton or you will pay 5x what you can find it on line for. It is easy to replace - just take the face off the transmitter and go to it. A little tight inside the transmitter but nothing bad. The Kohler engines won't rev up if...

hack of a deal on craiglist here for a 200hp cat diesel from a Vermeer sc60tx

You got this all screwed up! It is a 60HP engine not a 200HP as you titled this thread. Also if it only has 200 hours on it and was well maintained why does it look like crap? Look the oil filter. Pass on this one!

    Carlton 175HP John Deere

The Hurricane is a belt drive machine This looks to be a hydraulic head machine

    Carlton sp7015trx or Vermeer sc60xt

The 60TX is an old machine in Vermeer's line. I would avoid it. I had the predecessor to the 60TX and it was junk. I had a Vermeer tow behind - it cut good but was built too light. Rayco has a new 74 track that looks interesting - either that or the Carlton. Let us know what you get!

    Stump Grinder advice

How did the demo go? I agree with Grinder52 - go remote - you will never go back!!!

    Carlton 175HP John Deere

That engine looks like a 140 - 4 cylinder John Deere - not a 175. And those tracks are way bigger than those on my 7015TRX

Toro STX 38 any one run one ?

I tried out the smaller Toro - terrible!! It is a great idea but there is reason Rayco tells you not to buy theirs if you plan on contracting stumps. These machines are for the homeowner rental market.

Carlton 7015 Kubota 66hp Engine Management System

It has lights on it for oil pressure, temp, alt - and a shutdown system if any of these should alarm. You run it wide open when cutting anyway. I've got hundreds of hours on mine and never thought I was missing out by not knowing.

2005 JP Carlton command pro CH-740 replacement engine

You need to stay with the same displacement Kohler engine if you want it to bolt right up. You have to think not only about the belt drive system but also about the hydraulic pump drive and the housing that holds the pump in place. This is specific to that Kohler engine. More horsepower is...

Hydraulics Not working after flush and new fluid.

If you drained the fluid - refilled but did not have any fluid to the pump - or you started the engine while the fluid was drained - even for a fraction of a second- your pump could be ruined. It only takes a fraction of second to ruin a pump - I've done it. Once the system is flooded with...

?? Anyone tried to take off side cutters on sandvik wheel?? Not happy with carlton 5014 performance

40 hours on a set of teeth in this horsepower class is way too many!!! I would suggest all new teeth and then go grind - as teeth dull and performance goes down it happens so fractionally you hardly notice until all the sudden you realize the machine is cutting like crap. On low horsepower...

Cheers and jeers for a Bandit 2550 stumper?

A guy named Raymond Johnson over in southern GA. And this is for the Sandvik teeth - which are more expensive because they have harder carbide and large carbide. I know it is a bargain - that is why I don't do it myself!!! Tool Grinding Services 649 Woodcrest Road we sharpen stump grinder...

Cheers and jeers for a Bandit 2550 stumper?

Personally I think resharpening teeth myself is a waste of my time. I can send them out to be resharpened for $3 each and spend my time grinding stumps at $250 to $300 / hour. I've tried resharpening teeth - not only do you have your time invested but also the grinding wheels. The carbide...

    Slow swing(?) on SC252

Make sure the speed adjuster - which is an adjustable oriface - is definitely turned all the way in. Sometimes if these have not been moved in a while they will freeze in place - I would suggest turning it all the way out and then back in to make sure it is turning - make sure the little T...

Proud owner of a 4012 44hp grinder and am looking for all the tips and tricks!

If I remember right my SP7015TRX is 5400 pounds. This is the track version. She ain't light, but she's right!

    Slow swing(?) on SC252

Is everything slow or just the swing? Make sure the pump belt is tight and not slipping. Does it have auto sweep? (better known as auto sleep!)

Cheers and jeers for a Bandit 2550 stumper?

A hydrostatic drive on with that horsepower = mistake!! I used the Toro 38HP and it was a joke - my old original Rayco 20HP Magnum Jr would out cut it. Hydros are nice if you start with a ton of horsepower. If it would work on small horsepower don't you think Rayco would have done it...
