I was looking at Mike Acres site and the Super XP 1020 is shown as being able to use up to a 60" guide bar, and the regular old XP 1020 only rated up to a 30" guide bar. Why the vast difference in bar sizes?

Not sure why that would be. Both saws are 100cc. All I can figure is the Super possibly has an automatic oiler with manual override. And the Super seems to come standard with a full wrap handle.

Anybody have any input? Its got me stumped! (no pun intended)

    Den.

Don't believe everything you read, and Mike Acres info is not always correct, even info from Homelite is not always correct. The only difference between the two is the auto oiler, standard on the Super, optional on the regular XP. IMO a 60 inch bar is way to much for either saw.

I would love to find either saw in running or repairable shape.

Im not up on my homies real good but those are bigger or better then the 1020s? A honie 2100 would be fun too. Brad you always have super pretty saws. Did you restore that one?

I did. I only have a couple Homelites, but this is one of the prettiest saws I have.

The Super 1050 superseded the 1020’s. They are both 100cc. 2100’s are 114cc

    undee70ss great advice as usual.
What is the largest bar you would recommend on an XP 1020... either solid nose or sprocket tip?
I thought 36" would be about the maximum.
