tree diagnostics and leaf ID

Thank you for your responses.
In NC. Im thinking black cherry tree its about 40 ft.The leaves have been falling off early past couple years.
Tree looks kinda healthy to me not a lot of dead branches.The leaves start off green with like dark spots then turn the color of picture.The lower part of tree seems to have more but it does spread throughout the tree.
Its my inlaws so it means a lot to me.

Is this leaf a black oak or pin oak.(other mother in laws)In Illinois.

Cherry Leaf Spot. Clean up fallen leaves to reduce the amount of spore to infect the tree the following year. Mainly an aesthetic issue.

Your leaf is Pin Oak.
