New England is big, what state are you in? Fortunately we have a Dolmar dealer close by in CT, but The Cutting Edge is just over the line from the Western MA and Southern VT region... Have you had a chance to run one yet? Good luck in your quest, great saw...

I wish someone would at least tell what they have paid for a 7900 or a 6400... I am going to call a dealer tomorrow on a 7900 and I do not want to over pay if I can order one from a site sponsor and save some real money...

i went to home depot the other night looking to score one. the guy said they duidnt have any to sell and if they did he wouldnt reccomend it. he proceded to tell me how makita gas tools suck ass. i was like oh ok and walked away lol. i guess he didnt think the people who rented them had no idea how to take care of them. :dizzy:

Sorry Scott:

I corrected it in my original post. Should've known as I got my 7900 kit from you guys... By the way, I was at the Outlaw show last night at the Valley, were you guys there?

I wanted a 7900. I thought about buying a 6401 on ebay and doing the conversion to save some money, but I decided I'd rather just buy the real deal, get the warranty, and have the better resale value (plus not have to mess with doing the conversion).

I ended up buying my 7900 from a dealer in CT for $639 with a 20" B&C. While I like the saw a lot, I don't know that I'd buy from this dealer again if I could find the product at close to a similar price elsewhere.

Good luck... you're going to love this saw!

And this guy does what for a living? Oh, he works at Home Depot. Sounds like the sort of person whose opinion I would be seeking out...

7900 ?? $$$$

That is a good price. I was qouted $775.00 w/22in bar from a non-stocking local dealer.

Amickssuperstore.com is at $679.00

Any dealers/sponsors on this site interested to offer a "group power buy" on the 7900???

OK, so I found a new 7900 with a 24" B/C for $663... It has been on a shelf for about 1-2 years and I know the guy wants it gone. Never had gas in it.

Is that a decent price? From what I am reading here it seems to be.
