Well...

One of the gang here was needing an AR built for zapping pesky woodchucks and other varmints on his Farm. Had to be reliable, MIl-spec tough to deal with bouncing around on a quad and behind the truck seat, and accurate.

I was needing a 90+cc Saw for future Milling, and to whittle a few Monsters down, Happen to have built and maintained firearms as a job description and still have the FFL.

The 395XP dosn't seem to have been thrashed much at all, Compression feels plenty healthy but I have yet to put it on the gauge. It runs great and grunts through Elm like butter with an 8 Pin and a 20" bar, and trying to get her to bog. LOL!! I can LEAN on this one, and it's running just a smidge rich from my ear. a 36" Oregon bar and several loops of JGX were tossed into the pile as well as the 20" and a couple loops of LGX.

So, the AR upper got my last Blackened Kreiger Stainless 1-8 Med. contour midlength Gas system 18" , "Wylde" chambered 5.56x45 Barrel. LMT T marked M4 Upper receiver, M.I. #9T floated rail, YHM. flip up front sight/ Gas system, and a M.I. flip up emergency rear sight, and a G.I. A2 compensator. Bolt carrier group is a polished LMT with a lapped and fitted Gas key and M4 extractor upgrades.

The last barrel from that lot went into the .3's reliably with Mk262Mod2 ammo, so I'm hoping this one is as good.
That's one of my Lowers on the rifle, as the final parts needed to complete the new Lower aren't in yet.

Now I gotta get busy with a Muffler mod on the 395 and other tweaks.
Parris and his endless 394/395 projects are killing me!!!

Has anybody done a left side Muff mod using a 288 deflector?

:popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

Cant wait to see it when that PRS is on her and get the scope mounted.

BTW, you mind shooting me a PM Dinger, I was writing while driving, and I cannt read what I wrote:dizzy:

Hopefully she will be bouncing around in the combine this fall with me to wack a few chucks and coon running down the rows:clap:

I'd change that stock to a Magpul CTR but other than that seems to be a good trade. ARs are so easy to build, I enjoy showing friends how to build one. I'm starting on build #6 soon.:dizzy:

You will love that 395, plenty of power and they run like a raped ape when ported.:chainsaw: Don't know if I'd trade my 660 for an AR though, would have to be a real nice one.:D

LOL!!!

Yeah..PM coming.

I hope the thing is short enough and handy enough with the PRS and scope on it. It handles like a slightly muzzle heavy M4 now.

Ya might want to source a good Green laser too.
What the heck, there's gonna be at least one rail left open and those Chucks can be quick!!! LOL!!

Dont get me started thinking of a lazer on it. But you have a good point, one rail has my light on it, so I will have one rail left:)

Now I have to keep bugging ole Cusin Tim to keep a eye out for a Acog yet.

Nice work on the gun.

As for the deflector, anything that comes out of the left side usually needs the top cover cut to clear it.

I figured some cutting would be needed, but how much clearance around it is the question.

I keep looking at the front of that Muffler and wondering if setting things on fire is gonna be an issue.

Thanks!!

Naw, keep bugging your buddy Jr. and see if he can come up with a sterilized Elcan Thermal.:D

I'll trade ya a brand new TA33 for one. LOL!!

That saw is one good stumper and noodler with that 20" bar. Have you ran it with the 36 er yet? It takes work to bog that saw with the 36" bar on.

If you do end up getting it ported I do need to run it.

Yea, Junior is looking for something that sits on top and when you look through it it has a green hue. He said if one ever falls off the truck he will send it my way....

Nice trade. Now if anyone wants to trade a .416 Barrett for a 395 I'll let mine go.
Speaking of AR builders we have a custom AR builder right here on this site: Tony Rumor.

That's my lower with the USMC M93B. CTR's are nice, but the old M93's put up with bieng abused better.

There's a PRS going on a fitted Superior arms lower to mate with that upper.
Sort of a agricultural Recce/SAM-R hybrid LOL!!

If you knew where that barrel came from you'd be glad to trade me an 880 LOL!!.;)

Ya, just add another one to the right side with a screen if your concerned about it.

Tony makes some good stuff.:D

Skip the 416. Start thinking about a 300Win, and how to get your hands on some of the new Generation ammo, and start saving for the stuff Hornady is fixing to drop in a month or so. 338Lapua is now old hat.;)
No... I signed a non disclosure and can't say.

The m93s are tough, I just don't like the look. I got a Ace M4 Socom on one of mine. I'd bet the lower would break before the stock. That is one tough sob, heavy though. PRSs are great also. I really want to try a UBR, got to finger one at the local shop, fell in love.:D

I got a KISS build with a Colt M4 bbl that might have came from the same place as your Kreiger. The only reason I bought it was for the bbl, feels special to me.

What?????? I've heard a little but no facts yet. If they can make an .300WM out preform a .338LM, put me in line! Got to be better in all ranges also.

I love Tonys Eastern Bloc Mutations.
Not really practical for my uses, but for whimsey and fun they crack me up!

Just wait on that 416...You'll be twisting all Kinda #'s in your head in just a little bit, and ya wont have to part with the 395.

The hat is fixing to drop though, and soon.
Folks can learn all they need when it does, and I doubt you'll be able to pick up any Gun Rag without headlines about it. LOL!!!
