Was in the garage going over my neighbors poulan 1800 that "wouldn't start". I had taken the spark plug out so i could get the fuel tank out. The fuel filter wasn't connected to the fuel line and so it was just in there just rattling around.
Gave up on getting the tank off and managed to get the filter out and back on the line. Gased her up and started yanking away on the rope. 20 pulls later, DUUUH!

You forgot to put the plug back in ya idiot! :loser:

yeah, after i dumped the fuel out that looked like dirty water, added some fresh mix & primed the carb with a few drops. It needed some carb adjustments but i got it running. :smile-big:

Wasn't the compression a little lower than you expected? Glad I never did anything like that. Ever see a Milwaukee circular saw explode? That was earlier today. Not lol about that.

Dumber A** Moment

Had a stuck float that hydro-locked the engine. Fixed the carb, and pulled the plug and guess how I tried to clear the cylinder.

At least I was working outside. Really got exciting when the plastic fuel tank (full) melted.

It wasn't really that noticeable. It's a little rinky dink saw that feels like it weights 1 lb. and i was drop starting it like it was a rag doll. hahahha

Ouch, that was funny for the first 3 seconds and then i realized that was an expensive mishap.

Keep writing guys, I'm taking notes and learning. I am famous for making flares and forgetting to put the flare nut on. Kind of hard to keep a refrigerant line from leaking with no flare nut.:bang:

Tant no biggie. A few weeks ago I had a man bring in a 290. He slammed it on the counter and proclaimed I had sold him a piece of junk. I go whats wrong with it. He goes it cut off while I was sawing. I'm thinking cut off in the cut, ut oh. Pulled the muffler looking for a scored cylinder, looked brand new. In fact the whole saw looked brand new. I thought for a second and opened the gas cap, tank bone dry. I go you know this thing won't run off air. He goes thats not why it stopped. I go lets see. I re-fueled it, 3 pulls and varooooooooooooom, saw ran perfect. I gave him my famous look, the one that makes someone feel like a dumbazz when they are. He goes I can't beleive it, I never thought about the fuel. I go one day hopefully they will make them dummy proof,LOLOL

Embarrasing, but not costly

It's OK to laugh, The tractor was given to me by a friend about 3 weeks before I tested it's fire resistance. Didn't cost anything, but it was hard to admit to my friend what happened. He bragged how great the tractor was when he gave it to me, he ran it for 20 years and it still ran great!

I can always blame the ethanol for sticking the float!

Ok since it is dumb assed moment time. 20 sumpin years ago homie xl I decided since it was getting dark that I would fuel the saw before running out at idle plan went great until a little over fill and hot Texas evening lit that little sucker up. The more I tried to put it out the more it flamed but it stayed running right up until it quit. I thought to myself genus pure genus I needed a new saw lol:cheers:
