Hello all, i have great news in the fact that good fortune has shown upon the great 2100 ;) I had a visit at HOH and low an behold, Dewayne was able to find a NOS clutch spider within his vast stash of Homie paraphernalia. Paid up, he sent it right out and took delivery yesterday. Tonight i ordered a new clutch plate and roller bearing to replace the worn bushing. I was also lucky to receive the 2100 with a 7 pin rim/spline setup which, after some studying, found that these are desirable and harder to come across. Its my understanding that some 2100's came with odd 6 spline drums. I really hope to have the ol' girl in some wood soon and i will certainly report here with some video action :) Thanks guys for the help!
Someday ill get to run a 2100!! I like my 1050 but a 2100 would be sweet!!

The reason I asked was because a few days ago I replaced a Poulan clutch with one from a Homelite, worked fine!

Lemme guess..................................................an XL-12/SXL type clutch on a 361? The Super 2100 has a unique clutch setup. Other versions of 2000/2100 saws have a threaded crank, and can use a complete clutch setup from a 1050.

It'll be my first experience with a 2100 as well ;) Im looking fwd to the xp1000 too. I have some nice big oak set up just for these two saws :chainsaw:

BTW, does anyone have the pt #'s for the crank seals handy? I fires the saw for just a moment but shes been sittn for 20 years er so. Im worried they may fail pretty quickly. We'll see. Got my fingers crossed

Definitely replace those seals. Replacing a roached P/C takes $$$ and luck. You'll enjoy that 2100 very much. They're EXTREMELY strong. I envy your 7-spline clutch drum. My 2000 and 2100-S have the six spline drums. That means I'm stuck with the .404-8 rims. They're so strong that they can run those rims well. I'd still rather run .404-7 rims on them. Easier on the clutch (and the rest of the saw) when running longer bars.

Thank you very much sir. I'll start searching those seals out asap ;) I will however give the biggie boy a shot at the wood. I'll keep my ears calibrated for any signs of leakage. And yes , i did get lucky with the drum for sure. Was the 7 spline drum an upgrade only? Or were some of the 2100's sold with this setup? Also, im wondering if my paints original. I say this due to some light over spray on the handlebar rubber and that ive only seen 2100's with the black air box lid. Thanks, i have plenty to learn about these two Homies. What better place than here bugg'n you guys heheh

I don't know, it was in a parts can. It was one of those "S" shaped clutches like they use on a Super 2 only bigger. I put it on a 380 Poulan, worked fine! Don't know how long it will last though..

I've only seen the seven spline drum mentioned as an option in one or two IPL's (talking 2000/2100's here). I think it was really intended for the 650/750 saws. In those IPL's, the 7 spline drum is listed as standard, with the six spline (and the seven spline HD...............which is the drum we want for 2000/2100 saws) listed as optional.

They are some powerful lil buggers :) I have another one i converted to a rim .325 / 9 tooth 18in. Pulls this combo extremely well. Made it much more fun to cut with! Great saw. It was the very first of this CAD thing.
OK so what is the secret of the .325 sprocket combo? I have three and find them to be very willing little saws. I have thought that a lighter chain might add a new edge too
