Hi folks...I have missed you, lol. So, picked up a CS2511T yesterday and promptly pulled the limiters. Does anyone out there know what the proper settings are? I know I'm currently running rich on both ends. The high setting does not seem very sensitive to adjustment. I'm having a hard time finding the sweet spot there. The low side is about 3/4 turn out from the "lean peak". With the current settings it likes to almost die when I let off the throttle and the RPM's drop. Then it catches and revs back up to a normal idle...sometimes. Other times it dies outright.
On the high side, it 4-strokes at such a high rpm that I can't maintain that RPM in the wood and find the sweet spot because of the decrease of RPM once load is applied. I'll keep playing with it until I get it figured out, just thought one of you might be able to get me dialed in according to your saw.
Also, is there muff mod info out there for this saw? I have not been able to find much.

Thanks,
-Steve

I took the spark arrestor out of mine after one tank of fuel, i haven't touched the carb setting though. I need to run it in first. Carb settings should be in the manual.

I'll check the manual when I get home. I like to run my saws rich when they're new...part of my CAD-OCD. I already have a few tanks through it. Running it with a 12" 91VXL. It likes to chatter a little if I don't keep the pressure just right. Thanks for the reply.

Vxl likes to chatter. I put .043 stihl bar and chain on mine. The smaller chain really helps it.

I run vxl on all my smaller rear handle saws..... the vxl cuts good but kicks back bad on old palm boots.....have not tried the 43 gauge yet what all did you have to switch over for the stihl combo?

I just had to lengthen the adjuster hole toward the tip so i could slide the bar back some to make up the DL difference. Echo is 45 DL and Stihl is 44. It took about 5 minutes with a Dremel

If you take out a DL it will fit right on.

I got mine with a ten inch .050 3/8"LP bar and chain combo but i also got a ten inch Sugi pruning bar with it. The Sugi is a .043, i got a 1.1mm chain and a .043 sprocket with her as well. I haven't ran the Sugi bar yet.

How'd it run before you pulled the limiters?

I'm curious to hear what you think of the saw once you get it running properly.

I pulled the limiters before I pulled the rope. I wanted to run it richer right from the start. I just thought someone here could count their turns and let me know where their saw is for settings. I'll dial it in and report back.

I have about five tanks through it now. I almost have it dialed in. I'll finish it in the wood tomorrow.
Anyone know if this saw has a limited or unlimited coil?

FWIW, Echo recommends running five tanks before doing any adjustments. I know my CS355T gets stronger with each tank.
I found my 355t to be about spot on out of the box. I bucked hickory and oak logs with it for the first few tanks so it had a hard break in. It really woke up after 5 or 6 tanks. My dealer is still waiting on 2511s haven't even gotten to see one in the wild yet.

Sounds like you might be up against the limiter (sounds like its 4 stroking) and tuned lean, open the high until it slows WAY down then gradually back in until it cuts the fastest in bigger wood. Steve
