Here's the specs, the PS-5100S & PS-5100S A are the same except for .325" or 3/8" (A) Bar & Chain.

These numbers only add up if the 2.9 is rounded down from 2.941 or more, and the 4.0 bhp are rounded up from 3.95 or so.

Is that really the case? :confused:

WOWOO!!...14,500 RPM!!....that rascal must really be lean!....I wonder what that does to engine longevity and I wonder if this is done to satisfy EPA requirements??
 
I dont think i'd worry too much about it. The husky 346xp is rated at 14,700 rpm and has been proven reliable. As far as the rated 14,500 rpm being EPA driven, I dont think it is as the equivalent model in europe will also be rated at 14,500.
