550XP for sale. Old stock 2015 model purchased new in May 2017. It has less than 10 tanks of fuel through it, used as a limbing saw. This is my first modern high rpm saw and I find the lack of torque disappointing when using it to fell or buck at high elevation ( I live at 9000 ft and cut at 11000 ft).

Saw has been to dealer twice under warranty to address the hot start and throttle response issues common to this model. Saw has latest Autotune updates as of August and works fine at this time. I will send video to any serious buyers.

Currently wearing 3/8x50g 20” bar and chain. I will include a .325 rim with the sale.

Looking for $450 shipped w bar/chain or $400 PHO. Cash, check, MO, PayPal gift or ad 3%. Saw will ship as soon as funds clear. I am new to the forum but have been on Ebay for over a decade with 100% feedback.

Thanks for looking. That shouldn't last long. I'm not surprised that 3/8x20" is disappointing, especially at that elevation. That's a lot to ask of a stock 50cc saw.

I tried it with the .325 LGX and wasn’t super impressed. After conceding that this was not a one saw plan I changed it over to take advantage of the surplus of 72 driver LPX loops I have on hand. There is no lack of power or speed cutting 2-3” limbs with this combo.

Makes sense to me. Sounds like a nice setup for that job. I've got a bunch of those loops myself. If you want to run a 20" bar and you're not going to have it buried, 3/8 has better chain speed and fewer cutters to sharpen.

Welcome to AS Amos.
I've always liked my little 550's and the 555(one of my favorites.
They do like to be revved out for sure. I enjoy mine running an 18x325, I like an 18 on my 50cc saws unless I'm bucking in the log pile at the house, then I like a 16.
Your saw is tempting, then I could just sell mine lol.
GLWS,
Brett

I switched my WWS 2253 from .325 to 3/8 square file and like it much better. Square file 3/8 is even smoother than .325.
I can square file .325 but it is a little harder and I feel like I wear the file prematurely hitting the tie strap pretty hard.

Try a loop of Oregon 72CK semi-skip square ground before you sell...
