Hello All,

I think this is my first post, Anyways, here is my idea. Could a 8500 jug be bored and replated,
to utilize a piston that is easy to get ahold of? Maybe an 066 piston? 1.5-2mm overbore, stroke is almost the same. Or an 80cc dirtbike piston? You may need a custom shim plate for the base gasket, can anybody lend any oh yeah, I tried this and......

I havent researched wrist pin diameters, or pin height yet. This is done in snowmobile engines pretty often. If done right you could end up with a 100cc almost genuine poulan saw.

Also, has anybody ever tried slicing the head off the cylinder, and making a bolt on head?
This would require 2 donor cylinders, or a wire EDM.....hehehehe... Would also need to drill
and tap a bolt circle in the cylinder.

I realize that all of the above wouldn't be "cost effective", but wouldnt it be a neat BIG saw?

KJC
