I was in a hurry to buy a saw, wanted one in the 40-50cc size. Ended up buying a Jonsered 2240 from Tractor Supply, they handed me the saw new in the box and I left the store. Got home put fuel and bar oil in it and took it to a tree I want to cut. I pulled and pulled and pulled on it and finally got it started, took it to the wood and was not happy with the way it worked, even when it was warm it didn't want to start. Ended up taking the saw back to the store, I figured the saw was a good deal as it was $249.00 with their $20.00 off sale. Anyways I got my check in the mail from Tractor Supply for $249.00 and headed to a town who has a dealer that I have done business with a few times, he sells Husqvarna, Echo, and Jonsered, I had it in the back of my mind to get an Echo CS400 but he was out of stock on that model, I checked out the Husky's was didn't care for the angle of the handle. I grabbed one of the Jonsered CS2245's and liked the looks and feel of it, he had it priced at $309.00 and told me it was on sale $50.00 off, so I got it for $259.00 That is only $10.00 more than I paid for the CS2240 and the CS245 is not only 5cc's bigger but is alot more saw and has a stronger clutch in my opinion. Not only was this saw only ten dollars more, the dealer also put some fuel and bar oil in it and took it out back and started it and set the rpm, etc. He wants me to bring it back after about 20 hours of use to be checked again. I learned a valuable lesson and that is to buy a saw from a dealer not out of a box store. By the way the 2245 starts and runs great, plenty of power and have a feeling it will get even stronger when it breaks in. P.S. I called and had a nice talk with spike60 about the Jonsered saws, he was a wealth of knowledge and a super nice guy to talk with, thanks spike60! Steve.
