Pulled the by-passs handle out on the 4400 Woodmaster yesterday and about hit myself in the mouth as it has become unattached from the flapper. Looks like we will finish out the year with smoky smelling clothes as we only have 3=4 more weeks to burn. Never seen much reduction in smoke out the door when using it anyway. Our first troubles of any kind with the 4400 including the TACO 007 and 011 pumps. Needless to say we are pleased with it. On the minus side, we did a bit of insulating and with all the kids moving out and our domestic needs dropping by 2/3 we saw a big drop in wood usage, yes I said minus, I like to cut firewood, LOL.

This is my second year with my WoodMaster and my handle borke too. Just like you I did not see a big differance in the smoke coming out the door so I never called any one. That is my only problem with it so far.
