Two upcoming CEU opportunities for attendees of the ‘Urban Forestry Today’ monthly webcasts (and other tree enthusiasts!):

Woodbanks, Fuel Poverty & Urban Forestry: Exploring the Relationship

In recent decades, community wood banks have arisen to provide free firewood to fuel-poor households, as means of offsetting heating costs. Join Clarisse Hart (Harvard Forest) and Drs. Eric Griffith (Duke University) and Rick Harper (Univ of Massachusetts) as they outline the existence of woodbanks in the U.S. & Canada; they will also explore the potential for collaborations between municipal & private arboriculture/urban forestry operations that generate “waste-wood” through routine arboricultural activities like pruning & tree removals.

Register to attend live on Tues June 07 @ Noon (Eastern) and receive a Free (1.0) ISA CEU by clicking here.

This FREE webinar is brought to you by the Canadian Tree Fund (CTF). Live attendees will receive 1.0 ISA CEU. Consider donating to further the CTF in their mission to support tree education and research. CTF is a registered Canadian charity and donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt: https://canadiantreefund.org/

UFT Summer Tree Summit: The Protection & Management of Mature Urban Trees

Urban Forestry Today’s ‘Summer Tree Summit’ returns Thurs June 30 2022 from Noon-2PM (Eastern) with Dr. Kevin Smith, USDA Forest Service, who will discuss the “Protection & Management of Mature Urban Trees”.

Join Kevin Smith, PhD, as he outlines how trees grow and mature with the potential to increase environmental benefits, and real-world strategies to protect and manage larger, mature trees in the urban landscape.
