chain mortiser

hi guys
after picking myself of the the floor when he said £ 1112 (around $1600) for a makita chain mortiser, thats a cheap one he said, your having a laugh mate,surley there must be a way in which i could adapt a husq 357 xp ,anyone tried to make a jig for this ?or is it possible to hire these in the uk.

i have looked at the cheaper model from makita its about 12 hundo usd the better swiss made mortiser is about 16 hundo, that is a usa price. not sure about your area. look on e-bay
