Was wondering what kind of carburetor I can put on a lawn boy mower so I can use the mower on a hill side. I have a nice Lawn Boy that does okay on level ground but not on the bank in front of my house, it seems to starve for gas. I thought maybe I could convert it to some kind of diaphragm carb which would work in any position..

LB did use Walbro diaphragm carbs on some of their snowblowers using the C or D series engines.

I’d start by looking at the old IPLs on their website, but if I remember they were HDC or bigger WTs. The intake reed plate was special too, as it was turned at an angle.

There’s also a couple of LB forums, where you could ask.

Thanks, hotshot, I knew I read somewhere that LB used a diaphragm carb some time ago, just couldn't remember what it was on. I have an old HDC carb here but would have to figure out how to adapt it to the engine. I think my LB is an F series.
