Cutting dead Red Oaks in the Summer?

Hello,
I had several Red Oaks suddenly die. I'm assuming it's oak wilt.
Is it ok to cut them down in the warmer months, or will I further spread the disease?
They're all in the 32-36" range. Don't want them falling on their own, but can probably wait till fall if need be.

If they are dead, you can cut them at anytime.
