I always hated cleaning those teenie holes to try to jam grease
into the Nose Sprocket Bearings. And usually the sawdust ended up in the Bearings.

So when I got 5 gallons of 80-90 gear oil at a public sale for $6.00,
I had to find uses for it, and that darned sprocket came to mind.

Now when my Girfriend is at my house, and I can't sleep with my saw,
I hang it from a Ladder hook, Sprocket down, suspended in 3 inches of that Gear Oil.

I know the chain is lubed on startup,
and I have no trouble with that Sprocket,
so what am I doing wrong here?

Happy New Year,
Nevin

I grease mine once a day and I have never had one sieze up on my. Do you have trouble with them siezing? I have the cheap greaser from walmart that you put the end to the bar and then push on it and it squirts grease into the bar. They are pretty inexpensive I think mine was $4.00.

Gear oil stinks like hell for one thing. Only tip I've ever had trouble with was on a fire. Right Dan, even the good metal chainsaw grease guns are less than ten bucks and last a lifetime.
