I suppose it's about time I signed up and try to contribute, rather then just creeping around and reading from the shadowy corners of the Internet.
Not in forestry by trade, but have had jobs in forestry in the past - mainly tree planting and nursery work. Most saw related shenanigans has been limited to property clean up work and domestic firewood use.
Currently running a Stihl 009L that I bought second hand years ago. Last idiot give it a mild case of palm rot and managed to take a bit of a gouge out of the lower part of the case, but I keep it clean and in return the saw treats wood mean. It just refuses to give up. Odd little design and full of character.
Will be getting a second saw to complement it on bigger stuff. But that's for another thread entirely, when the time comes.
