Husqvarna 359

Just looked over a 359 yesterday, well used. Needs a few parts before it should be used safely. Parts are ordered, saw tuned/muffler breathes better now, and chassis tightened up. I must say, I was really impressed by the saw. It was a screamer! What do you all think? I missed this one when they were being offered at chain stores...

I bought one last fall in need of repairs and went through it over the winter to replace a 257. The anti-vibe is a huge upgrade and so is the side tensioner. Definitely a stronger saw with better throttle response than the old 257 also.

I still have my 257 (1996) my first saw. I would have to agree with your comments about the 359. The 257 is easier to work on however. I like those Husqvarna 2 series saws...

Well I think you will be impressed when you get it going. Very capable saws.

Yes they scream. Not as torquey as the 460 Rancher with strato, roughly same displacement, but revs what seems like 25% as high and seems to have power at those revs. If you can keep the correct pressure to use those RPM's its a heck of a cutter.

I've been using my 576xp instead of both of those.

357s are the real revers, but I like the 359s better.
But I really like my ported 359 cyl. on the 357 stuffed crank.

The 359 is definitely more areo dynamic in appearance...
