Most think of weeping cherries as the 5-7 feet trees grafted at the top with its branches coming down to the ground. But I've seen large weeping cherries of 30 feet or more with pendulous branches much like the weeping willow only the branches don't come straight down. I am interested in more information on weeping cherries that is not of the mushroom form but one that has significant form and presence. I've heard that there is a weeping variety of the Sargent Cherry. Does anyone know how large it grows?

Then there are the huge cherries (80ft plus) that are upright yet have pendulous aspects as well. These are spectacular. They are like oak trees but with flowers! Anyone know what the species is? A tree of this age, I doubt, would be a cultivar. I don't know the tree's age either but would assume it is younger than an oak tree of the same size. Still an aged tree. Any comments and information is appreciated.

Absolutely stunning! What is this? Prunus Subhirtella? Not exactly weeping but with pendulous characteristics.
