Help! I recently planted 6 Leyland Cypress "Moncal" and they are now turning orange! The orange parts are pliable (they bend and are green underneath the orange) and do not break off, they aren't brittle or dead. What is wrong? I saw a post on a web site in the UK that said it could be overwatering (?). If so, will it get green again? I am very panicked!

orange foliage may not mean dead but it sure means dying. Check Buying and Planting info in the link below to make sure that part got dopne right. Post pictures of the trunk flare if you want help here.

What's the deal with Cypress trees anyway. Either they're not growing, they;re hybernating, or they're dying. I just don't get it. We had one that died for no apparent reason last year. Turned orange too.
