I have only been in business two years, but in that time I have searched for software to keep track of equipment, job logs, tree assessments and client info. Everything I saw was crazy pricing for a guy like myself. I did get quickbooks to handle my financials and built it to make quotes, invoices and such and that works great. Nothing out there for the tree industry seemed to integrate with quickbooks so I started looking at other options. I have a android tablet for field work and have windows on my laptop. I found a product called MobiDB that works on both for $19.95. I have had experience building databases in the past and this little program is very simplified but able to do all I wanted. I have now build 33 tables and several custom forms to work on the android in order to conduct assessments, record job information along with a checklist for the day and also track all my gear. Still need to refine a few things but for those of us that are small operations this seems the way to go. I am more than willing to share my database work with any other small operations that may find it interesting. For those folks in Indiana going to the conference next week. Track me down there and I can provide a demo. Here are a couple of screen shots.
