new ginkgo leaf color

My newly planted ginkgo tree was already sending out nice green buds when I planted it a couple weeks ago.

Now, however, the leavers are turning a dark yellowy/green color.

Is this just stress from the planting, or am I overwatering it (I am watering it every couple of days), or is it something else.

ETA: The discolored parts are hard and brittle, like a dead leaf...

1. Let the soil drain between waterings. Don't kill it with kindness.

2. Did you buy and plant it right--see new tree planting and buying a high quality tree in the link below.
 
My guess is also frost damage. Just don't worry about it until it doesn't produce leaves at all. Water well and infrequently. Mulch it too.
