Pin Oak buds in winter

Hi… the pin oak in my backyard has one branch that sprouted some buds in November/December. Is this normal? The rest of the tree is sleeping…

It's trying to come out of dormancy, likely due to warmer than avg temperatures. Shouldn't hurt a healthy, well established tree so long as it's only a few buds here and there.

That’s what I was hoping… he’s a big guy and has survived us building very close to him 20 years ago… would hate to have any problems with him now. Thank you!!!

Yep, I've had a few of my pears and peaches start to blossom earlier as well. They are much more susceptible to damage from my experiences...
