This may not be the right forum, seeing most posts are about chainsaw mills, but, will start here. I Picked up a Woodland mills sawmill that needs to be assembled.
As I do not intend, at the moment anyway, to spring near $2k for their wheeled trailer, was going to just use PT lumber for a base as I have seen pictures of.
Choice is 4x4 or 6x6? I had "visions" of later on repurposing an older HF 4x8 folding trailer, properly extended/modified and just "dropping" the mill and base on it (properly secured) of course, for moving about the neighborhood and using it like that.
Since the measured distance of the adjustable "feet" in that standard length unit is around 12'4", I would have to go for 16 footers.
4x4 good enough? 6x6 is way more than twice the price around here.
