I would have heard that much air being sucked thru when I put the electric vacuum pump on it!! And besides I'd already plugged it
A couple of things...

1. You can't pressure test through the carb. It has to be removed because it will leak (by default) through the throttle and choke shafts.
2. Comp release valves are notorious for leaking even when closed. Install a straight plug with a gasket to test.
3. Apply 5-10 PSI to the saw and then dunk it in a bucket of water. The leak(s) will become immediately apparent. Positive pressure will keep the water out of the saw.
