I'll do my best describing this. It's a 24" approx dbh maple, with approx a 6" max root girdling the trunk, slightly above the root flare. HO wants the tree saved if possible. He's a personal friend. I've read a bit about girdling, and nothing really looks promising for saving the tree. Just making sure I'm not missing something. The girdle is clearly choking that side of the tree. Undersized branches on that side only. Just wondering if there is anything I can do for the tree.
