The forest you go to die in

Totally off topic, so I felt sure it ought to be posted here ;-)

Weird story about a forest in japan at the base of mount fuji where upwards of 100 people a year go to kill themselves. Yup, 2 every week. It's called the suicide forest, they have signs discouraging killing yourself, and suicide patrols. You can get online guides about how to do it right for those that aren't quite sure. Layout tape so you can find your way back in case you change your mind (thought slowp would like the blue tape), and be sure and hang yourself when you're committed. What's up with that?

I watched that video long ago and it's a good one. I especially like the Japanese geologist who is the central character. My stepdad was a Japanese national and he told me stories of the Aokigahara when I was a kid.
