wood burners and cobweebs

been burning 2x scrap and uglies.i get some popping and sparking esp off the 2x scrap.well this one was an eye opener. my wood burner is in the cellar. i opened the door some sparks shot out and the cobweebs on the ceiling turned into a sheet of flame.just a quick flash, but scared the s out of me. gonna keep the cellar a lot cleaner.

Best not to have any flammables close to the stove. At least nothing serious came of your experience. ;o)

It's one of the maintenance items looked for on fire inspections because they can contribute to rapid fire spread like you observed.

I've had that happen soldering pipes in the ceiling - scary how fast and bright those things burn.
