If I did go though the wall what issues would that cause??

Hmmm, judging from your photos and use of a dremel, I suspect you have gone through the plating and/or reshaped the cylinder into an oval rather than a circle. This would make it difficult for a new piston to seal.

You can check this with reference to the unscored intake side of the old piston.I
 
i cant really tell from your photo, you need to look from lots of angles. To me the scoring looked too deep, as if it would fail the fingernail test and a dremel is normaly too harsh.

The risk is that the oval shape of the cylinder causes stress on the circular ring, which eventually heats up or fails, causing scoring again and loss of decompression. This has happened to me.
 
Shinning a torch into the cylinder should show if the nikasil plating has been ground away. The metal behind kind of looks dull in comparison to the nikasil.
