    The EPA sucks

I agree, but technology can only go so far at a time, baby steps.

    New wood burner

Update, well it's been a little over a month with the little stove and well,,, I like it. There was a bit of a learning curve, think small stove = small wood. I was putting in what I considered small wood and my Mini was pitching a fit. I took some of my stack of wood and split it in half and...

    New wood burner

No worries, super extra cautious, double wall pipe extra heat shields since I have such close clearances. I have, won't say overfired the stove but I have run it to the max for several hours checking surface temps with an ir thermometer and all looks good. The back of the stove has a built-in...

    New wood burner

Update, still getting used to the new stove. It hasn't been too cold Upper 30s low 40s a couple of nights. The mini had no problems keeping it way warmer than is comfortable if I wanted and had good control. It was a pretty good week of testing as there was a couple of damp rainy nights not...

    New wood burner

Thanks all, the camper is only temporary until I get things settled up then it's a tiny house for me. I will keep you all posted on my install and the stoves performance. As far as keeping the stove stoked I'm a light sleeper and my old stove was fairly small also so I have plenty of practice...

I'm feeling like Al Bundy from "Married with Children" right about now....

Hang in there buddy, I to know the feeling, getting divorced after 21 years I guess I didn't realize my best friend wanted to date my wife. Money, you guessed it divorce is a expensive thing so I'm financially embarrassed at the moment. But on the bright side I still have my boy although he's...

    New wood burner

Can't wait for my new tiny wood burner to arrive. My marital status has changed and so has my home. I decided it was time to re-evaluate everything. Yep it's time to downsize. I tried the big fancy house and cars and so on and decided to live my life for myself and not the banks. I'm...

    killing bees in ground nest

I know it's probably a little late but if you wait until night their all in their home in the ground and don't like to come out, take a gallon jug of bleach and turn it over so the neck of the open bleach bottle plugs their door and leave it until morning. I have never had to do it twice.

    wood furnace add-on location

I agree with checking out the insurance, mine said if any thing that runs on gasoline can be parked there the answer is no. And it wasn't enough to just say that you won't if it had an overhead door it was still no.

    Big wood or little wood?

I have got more red elm in the 6-15 inch range dead standing with no bark than I can burn so that's what I cut. I have a 35-40 inch oak that fell over 3 years ago with just the trunk left but just cant force myself to finish it up.
