i use 50 weight engine oil (new) or any sort of gear oil. happen to get it from work but chances are u know someone who can get their hands on bulk oil like that.no damage noticed yet to chains or bars. the best gloves ive ran across are made by snap on tools they are their hd models. a pair...
i havent heard of using atf for a splitter b4,but i believe its 10 wt oil just the same as hyd. i use aquamarine hyd fluid (enviromentally safe) in mine. you live in new york dont u? i can hook u up with all the regular or enviromental oil u want.im 30 minutes west of albany
i have a echo cs4400 thats complete and includes a new 20" oregon intenz bar/chain. it needs a piston ring. its in great shape. im interested in swapping for another project
a couple of the inserts out there can pull double duty, they can be used as freestanding stoves too. my biggest problem is reversing the downdraft sometimes. but once i get er goin look out.
i put a liner in my chiminey because i dont feel like removing the insert every time i clean the chiminey. i almost bought a quadrafire but i opted for the avalon, i must say it heats my entire house exclusively as long as its above zero outside
ive got an avalon ranier with optional blowers and an etched glass door, $2,900.00 installed. i love it, i also have a hampton stove for downstairs but it hasnt been cold enough to really use it in several years but it looks good though
