Is a Website a worthwile investment?

This is the first year that I have had my website up, so I am still on the learning curve. As for the nit picking about my website it is slightly ridiculous but some of you're observations and opinions will be taken into account. Over time I am sure that my site will grow in size and ranking as...

Is a Website a worthwile investment?

Well I asked some other web people what they would have charged me and it was 50% more then my original number. As far as search engines, every phrase or word that a customer in my area would search brings up my site in the top 5 options each time. Also, it's not just what you have in your site...

Last week I got THREE!!! calls the same day from the yellow pages people trying to get me to adv. with them...haha. 5 years ago...zero calls ALL year, think about it, they too know the phone book is becoming worthless that is why they are now the ones calling us. My website was made by a...

    brochures

Make sure you put things like your history, philosophy, and any personal achievments in there that seperates you from everyone else. If people are going to read an entire brochure just make sure it is full of useful information that will make them think "hmm could my tree have that? or wow I...

Why did I put Tree in the name of my company?

Funny, I have the exact opposite problem...Lake Lawn Tree Service...I am a "tree care" company by every definition but people consistently assume that I am a lawn service. I offer lawn service but I sub it to my buddy, I have ZERO desire to mow lawns. If I wasnt close to ten years in I would...

    Cleaning up Stump Grindnings(Billy Goat)

I use one to clean up debris that shoots out past the "main" grinding area. I would definitely not recommend using one to do the whole pile, you would be there fooooorever! Heavy duty garbage can, log cart to wheel around the loaded can and then use the Billygoat to finish and get one of those...

    leaf rakes

Best rakes I have used actually come from Lowes...they are the yellow handeled metal tined ones. I cant use plastic rakes I just break em. Even though the metal tined rakes arnt usually as wide you can rake a lot harder with them.

    starting my own business

Before coming here and asking "how do I start my business" which is basically what I gathered. Try talking to some people that have started their own biz in your town. I don't care if it is a hair saloon or a gas station starting any biz begins the same way. I was in the EXACT same spot you are...

    Tree fence

No price Treepointer? I believe this is called the "homeowner help forum" If a homeowner is set on doing things themselves I would rather see them do it right and they way they want it rather then BSing their way through it and having it fail. Price is always an important part of a...

How to trim a Bloodred Japanese Maple tree

If you can get a pic of it now, only a little closer, so we can see the branch patterns. We might even be able to tell you exactly which branches to prune. The first thing you are going to want to do is go study a site like treesaregood.com and learn the proper way to prune trees and shrubs...

    Tree fence

If you are going to plant any type of arb you are looking at ~70 plants and if you do everything yourself and plant 3'-4' specimens you are looking at no less then $2000.00. If I were in your shoes I would plant ##### willow. They grow really, grow to about 12' tall, grow fast and can be cut to...

    1 ton bucket/chip truck?

Not in the lake...down the lake roads and around all the camps and such. If you had a 450/550 with a light weight Nifty Lift mounted on it there is no waaay you can honestly say that a large forestry package with a 60ft lift can be in the same weight class. 2500lbs? I would say that is a...
