Hey fellas, I picked up this big old Poulan PRO 655. I was wondering if this is a boost port and how I can tell without totally tearing the saw apart. Here's a few pictures of it.

Remove the muffler, With piston at bdc you can see the boost ports
on the opposite side of the cylinder if it has them.

it's confirmed BOOST PORT!
Stick you pinky finger in the fuel tank and feel toward the oil tank.
There is an aluminum dived there epoxied in place.
They have sometimes fallen out and the tank cross-pollinate.[emoji33]

Nice! I've never run a 655 before so I'm pretty stoked to get her buried in some wood.

Mine has a 24" bar on it right now, it doesnt even begin to hurt it. Im planning on a 42" with a skip chain for mine soon. You can use a husky D009 munt bar and just file the slot open just a smidge.
The saws are powerhouses, i actually ran mine yesterday after it sitting for 8 months, i forgot how stout they were.
