SuperSplitHD vs SuperSplitSE wedge

Is the SS-SE wedge taller than the SSHD?
Checked the web site for differences but did not find anything on the wedge. For stringy wood that would be nice if it were taller. Only one listed in parts section.

I think they are the same (6 inches). @sam-tip may know, he has had both. Split Second has a 1" taller wedge IIRC.

Same height but the SS SE is longer for more strength. The cutting edge is the same. Just a bigger piece of steel behind the wedge. Plus the cutting edge is a much harder metal. Don't remember what the split second engineer told me what it was. But they tested it to know the exact metal type.

Only differences are the bigger motor, 100 lb fly wheel weights, stronger wedge, bigger belt and welded bearings .

But there is a difference in splitting. You will notice it in elm, dry walnut and notty wood. The SS SE has the power to cut through most wood not just split.

The wedge on the SS HD and SS SE are one inch taller than the SS J
