I agree this search feature would be nice and take time out of the process and probably stop some of the repeat posts.

Yes,, it's sad that you can't search for a phrase (contained within "quotes") or use std boolean operators... I have difficulty finding my own posts.

I thought I might be missing something. It's nearly impossible to find what you're looking for. I've been here for more than 2 years now and still can't find stuff. No wonder all the newbies repost old questions over and over. Once it's a few days old, it's gone bye bye.

Darin, is there any way to implement more advanced search features? I'm simply looking for MS441 bar stud PN info and can't find a reference to anything about them.

i tried a search today

Google search integration would help... Hmmm I wonder if Google's robots have indexed AS? That way we can search from the outside...

google search

I've recently had some AS threads pop up when I've done a regular google search. These were recent threads but I have to say I was surprised when they popped up. Try google search for "stihl contra"!

+stihl +361 +muffler +mod +lakeside

Search by posts instead of threads. Include as much information as possible and then work backwards. Put a + sign in front of each term and it will only return posts that have all of the terms in them. Then you read what you want, and if you need to learn more, you start deleting terms.

+361 + muffler +mod

will give you more posts and more junk. Eventually, you will cut down the chaff until it's not worth your time anymore.

Searching

Stihl 361

is garbage. You will get everything that has either term. That's half the posts on this site.

Just get a little specific, and use the + sign to include everything.

Fits with my experience.....

I have googled things and found AS threads. Thats how I found AS. Im not advertising my Thread but google 023L and look at the second from last hit.I think Andre would be happy.

And I thought I was the only one who comes up with chaff when I try to use the search feature. By the way, using Google search is how I accidently found AS. Best accident I ever had.:greenchainsaw:

This is exactly why you will never see me tell a newb to do a search before posting. I usually can't find what I'm looking for either.

:agree2: , I don't care for the search function when I'm wanting information now, You have to read and read and read and your still searching for the answer to your question, seems like a waste of enregy, When you can post a question and have it answered in 10 min.
