What do you guys do for saw cases for your larger saws? The Husqvarna case only fits saws up to the 372XP. My 385XP just has a bar scabbard on it and it has been known to slide around in the back of a truck.

its a chainsaw, whats it need a case for? mine usually ride in the truck tool box if its gunna be bad weather, but they ride around the back of the truck with scabbards on just fine. my dad doesnt use scabbards even, but he has never had a sharp chain open up a bar oil bottle in the back of his truck.......yet

Yea I usually keep my 385XP in my cross-bed tool box on the back of the truck - or sometimes I put the back seat up, and let it ride inside, on a towel on the floor..... 
but :censored: that letting it slide around in the bed.... I wouldn't do it....

I find cases very useful
I also would like to have a case for some of my bigger saws. You can't deny that it's nice to have a case that will secure your chainsaw along with everything else (but the fuel lol)you need. Good thread Jonny Quest

Stihl makes a nice metal storage box for cutoff saws and the MS460 Rescue saw. Downside is it cost 360$, part # is 0000 900 4101 if you're interested.

I like to let saws without case ride in the safety of my passenger seat, as a far as the metal box, I dont think it uses scabbards.

Yep that's my weapon of choice. The saw case is for my sawed off. :greenchainsaw:
I recently asked STIHL about this because I saw some new style cases (black, clamshell style - still don't fit the larger saws). The customer rep guy said that he would pass it on, so maybe if enough people ask. . .?
In addition to protecting the saw from damage, I like the cases 'cause they contain the leaks and keep everything else from getting dirty.

Husky's power box looks nice but I'm too cheap to spend 40+ bucks on a case

Indeed, got one with a new 455 few weeks back. Strong enough to ride in back with the logs and gas can and keep the garage clean too. $40 well spent protecting a $400 saw.

Yes, this box will fit the larger saws and there scabbards to fit the larger bars. Another advantage to this box is that it has lots of storage room for tools, etc.

I was told you could purchase different length scabbards for your saw. My dealer said my J-red 2165 w/ a 24" bar would fit. Not sure about the 7900.
