Stihl Bar mount patterns?

I'm not too familiar with Stihl bar mount patterns, as I am with Husky ones. I have a real nice early 044 on my Ripsaw mill, but don't want it on there anymore, want to keep it nice, I got a 038 I want to put on the mill, will the bar from a 038 have the same mount to fit a 044?

Yep. I don't think you'll even need to change your driver count. All Stihls from 024 to MS-660 use the same bar mount, 12.1mm slot.

Wow that's handy to have the same bar for that many saws. You think a 20" will be ok on a 044 ha ha

Sure, I've run a 20" on my 066 many times just cutting firewood. My main firewood saw right now is an 084 with a 24" bar to keep my upper body strength up.

LOL, nice. Last 2 years previous, I used my 394 with a 26", had no problem pulling that.

So my 026 uses this same size then? Im just looking at bars on baileys right now making a wish list.

That explains why I have no trouble switching the bar from my ms250 to my other two smaller Stihl saws: they are both 025s! And I can easily trade bars between my 036 and my ms290. My 090g (which I sold and still miss having around) had a bar like no other in my assortment: it was a monster measuring 60 inches! Nice that Stihl keeps it fairly simple. O
