Why not just keep it under the radar? Unless they are going to start doing other mufflers for different models, I don't see a butt load of 026/260 mufflers being made for high demand. However, I would like one.:D

I would not worry about a performance gain although I'm sure there is some. I add a husky deflector to mine for real gains and bigger port area if needed. The look of this mod is the only thing that entertains me.:chainsaw:

this particular mod was designed for improvments in an otherwise stock 026/260. What you can't see is the mods that will be done to run with a Snellerized saw.....They will outwardly appear identical.

The way I'm reading their response Brad... They don't want you to make a profit from the mod. So simply 'throw the mod in' with your port jobs. Of course, your port work will have to cost a little more. ;)

If you ain't 'selling it', no profit is being made.

How 'bout just throwing this mod in.....

I like it, and I don't even own a Stihl saw! What if you made your own logo, and put it on the "Snellerized" saws. Something like "SNELL" should fit in the same space easily. LOL, Nobody would know what it is though, unless an AS member. Great job on that! Excellent work.

I've been thinking about this. The old fashioned Stihl logo with the log and Snellerized running through the middle of it would be way cool. That would likely require a lazer or water jet though. Too intricate for tooling. I also thought about S S. That could be done with tooling easy enough.

You guys have way to much free time on your hands, must be nice..
Yes looks cool but is it practical ?

But the most important questions still hasn't been answered. What's it sound like? How is the power band?

Never heard back from Stihl on this one. I say we go for it if you guys are interested. It's always hard to come up with a fair price for everyone involved. Below is what we have come up with. Constructive input is welcome.

  1. $65. Mail us your cover. It must be undented and in very good condition. Nik will machine the logo in it, sandblast it, shoot it with a coat of high temp paint, and install a stainless spark arrestor screen.
  2. $80. We will purchase a new cover, machine it, and ship it to you ready to go. You don't have to mess with mailing your old cover in. There is a little more work involved with using a used cover, so the cost difference isn't that great for a new cover.

With either choice, you have the option to open up the factory port to 1/2" to further aid in exhaust flow.

$65-$85 to have it put on...how much to have it removed if you see the light?

Or can you machine over it to make it look like a mermaid if you move on to something better?

What I really want to know is: how much for this one on my muffler?

Will Fatguy be wearing a diaper during the milling procedure? This could be a vital marketing factor. Actually, could the picture of Fatguy wearing a diaper be cut in, instead of the Stihl logo?:greenchainsaw:
