To do the swap you need these parts:
COVER 503 62 80-01
HOLDER 503 62 75-01
AIR FILTER 5114550-01
The carburetor has to be removed in order to change the holder.

I did the same thing to mine. My 390XPG is a lowtop as well. You can carefully remove the XP decal and put it on the new cover too.

I now have the correct 390XPG label on the recoil. This is all I had at them time and wanted a new label on it.

Low top and the 44 micron filter is standard here! :D
+1 troll, I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder because I don't like the look of the high top. A filter on a Jred/ Husky on a 3 series saw just does not get very dirty. I think it is more a personal thing? unless someone is really lazy and never clean the filter.

They seem to breath better,,,, did a "mouth" test on my high top mesh filter and the 44micron low top, easier to breath through the low top and the filter area seems to be equal !?

Of course extreme conditions exist, but generally :agree2:

The low top certainly make the saw more pleasing to the eye.. But, If they all came as low tops, I bet folks would be turning them into high tops with the big filter...

whats wrong with girls with small butts?:)

Im goin to see if I can block out brads posts, so I dont have to look at his saws. jealous
