It's the end of the world, chainsaw manufacturing is outlawed, pick your poison. If you could only have two chainsaws for everything--what would they be?

You've got a good point Yooper. I was trying to put the question in a binding way. How 'bout this: If you could only have two saws for the rest of your life, which two would they be?

I wouldn't want a chain saw, I would want an ax an a large hand saw, hell once ya where out of gas ya would be ####ed! or do they have gas stations on deserted islands?:biggrinbounce2:

Excellent point, however to answer the under written contest of the question that I believe is being asked (if you could only have 2 saws but any 2 what would they be?)

I would want an MS660 and the CS62

What usually "rides shotgun" in the car is the 346xpg and the MS361W - so I guess it would be those! :biggrinbounce2:

...but how large is the wood on that island?????

They would have to be Stihls as even a deserted island would have one or two sthil dealers. I would take an ms 460 and 660 on a desert island would want to make sure I had a couple reliable tested work horses.. In the real world may change year to year and only having two saws wouldnt work. Need one in tree saw. an all around saw (ms 460, 372xpw,husky 390) a big saw etc.

Wow, you guys do not disapoint.

I didn't want to start another 2-saw,3-saw plan thread. But I really wanted to know what you guys would choose if you could only have two saws to do anything & everything. This is a little bit of a self-intervention....

I got a MS-250 just for "around the house" & it was fine. When we decided to start burning wood for heat, I got the green light on a bigger saw & a MS-660 followed me home. I p/u a non-pro 026 for $5 (cleaned it up, carb kit,..) & fired it up tonight. So I'm thinking, do I have my two-saw plan--660 & 026? For firewood & whatever else, what couldn't I do?
