Garden hose the fence and the pole. As for the stump, kerosene and a match. Water the fence and pole as needed. I advise doing this early on a Sunday morning, even better if it's foggy... The air, not you:givebeer:.

Just use a reciprocating saw and a demolition blade...you know an electric saws-all. No problem...

Unfortunately I do not have a cut off saw or know anybody who does. I have been using a battery powered saws-all but my batteries seem to be pretty week, guess its time to get new ones. The burning of the stump starts to sound better and better every time I go out and mess with it. So far a chainsaw, splitting wedges, saws-all. hand saw, and an ax have got me this far. This weekend I will get a new handle and continue. There has been a lot of chain link in the wood. So new handle more beer and were good to go.:dizzy:

I wish you were within driving distance so I could plunge cut around that metal for you, than let you hacksaw the pole with ease. Anyone nearby that can help him out?

I have a weed-burner that hooks to a propane tank.

I think that might fun enough to keep my interest for as long as it took to finish a six-pack.

Hopefully after this weekend I will get a new ax handle and finish the job. I am allot closer than when I started. Appreciate all the advice and encouragement. I was going to leave it as it was until I posted the pics just for fun. Then got some ideas from people here. So I am allot farther than I thought I would be. Just slow going that's all.:cheers:

That's the name of the game. I paid the price for a little chainsaw fun last weekend. I had cleared a patch of woods for some gardens for my wife. That was fun.

Last weekend was shovel and axe work getting the stumps out.

Not so much fun.

I have a loop of rescue chain I use for them. Its rated to cut through metal roofing have done a few long were ive know a fence post is in it.

Where does a guy come across something like that?

if you want to try the cut off saw, use HD "free trial program"
buy it
use it
return it
you know you will not be the first

Heh, my uncle is the king of doing that. I'm not innocent though; when I set up my satellite dish, I needed a compass to point it in the right direction. So.... I bought a little Suunto compass that came in a clear plastic blister pack, took it home and used it, and returned it the next day unopened. I wasn't about to pay $20+ to use one for half an hour!
