With all the recent discussion over the "I saw it on EBAY / CL thread", I was just wondering how many of you watch. I buy saws from CL and watch all over for the right deal to come by. I occasionally buy from EBAY, but based on discussion here, don't unless a real good deal comes along or the occasional part I need and find it cheap. I normally buy parts from site sponsors. Just curious how many of you are watching those sites and how often you watch? The poll is for amateur and pro saw repair man alike.

1st choice; Is for you hard core watchers, I mean you buy and sell to make money, for fun, to collect or serious profit. Say 20 or more saws a year.

2nd choice; Is for the buy and enjoy the fruits of your watching person, might sell a couple to pay for another saw or two, but your a watcher non the less, your the 10-20 saw person.

3rd choice; I buy a couple saws, watch a couple times a week and know a good deal. Happy with half a dozen saws and maybe trade up or down now and then, just like it says, maybe up to 10.

4th choice; Just watch occasionally and happy with what you have. Your in the less than 5 category.

And then there are these guys; it does not make you any less than the pro repair man. You could be a hard core watcher here.

5th choice; I watch the thread here for good deals.

6th choice; I buy new saws.

I think the poll will reveal a surprising number in two categories, what say YOU?

Not gonna lie.....I check eBay and CL just about once a day to look for parts for my project saw's and NEW projects. If I were to buy anything brand new however, it's to the dealership. :chainsaw:

Please since I can't buy saws send me rep. It is the only thing I can afford at the moment.

Gotcha.
I'll check pretty much several times a day (sitting in front of this screen anyways), mainly looking for good deals on parts or a cheap fixer-upper.

Hmmm - I am 4.17%, for "only new saws". I guess it will stay that way with me, but not with the percentage!

Edit; down to 4.00 now, after a couple of minutes! :hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

The truth is that I never bought a used saw, and probably never will!

Very well done poll, watsonr!:) I wonder how many hard core CL eBay buyers/sellers would actually admit to category 1. It must help to have this a private poll.

With the "I saw it on Ebay/Craigslist" what's the use, just tune in here a couple times daily and you can go across town and get the deal someone across the country found for you. LOL! :jawdrop:

Never planned on buying a saw off ebay but last year, Butler Power supply was liquidating a large inventory of new in box, Husky 350s with factory warrantee for $269.00 + $15 shipping. I didn''t really need one but felt like I would be a fool not to buy one. I'm glad I did.

I am not voting. To do so would be an admission (and proof) that I have a problem. Got to go so I can find a deal.....

:censored: it don't matter. I see a saw I like on CL there is no phone number. I send an e-mail and I get no response. Worse yet a saw that was within driving distance of me that is selling for $25 is sold to a member here on the board. Because the guy didn't call me even though I send him my phone number and tell him I want the saw. Then the member who lives 300 miles south of me feels bad and wants offers to sell me the saw for like $150 to cover his costs of having it shipped and all. That don't fit into my 60 year old unemployed food stamp for the first time in my life Thank you Jenifer Grandholm and Obama budget. $25 was a stretch but I really wanted it.:bang::bang:

Please since I can't buy saws send me rep. It is the only thing I can afford at the moment.

:arg::arg:

Sorry man, I'm all out. I haven't found anything local on CL and I don't look further than Ann Arbor. What kind of projects are you looking for? PM with details.

I look as often as possible. I don't go out of my way, but when the days calm down and the beer is done, I will pull out the laptop and look around. There is ANOTHER option that is growing...
