Still looking for an 034/036 muffler. Also need a rubber intake manifold for a 044 or 046. Also need dual dawgs for an 044. Have some parts, cash, and a used once set of pro-safety dawgs for a 046/460.
Thanks

Anybody have a air filter for a Homelite original EZ- or Zip, whatever would work?

I've got a nice used one I could send you..........Just send me a good useable P/C for an Original EZ in exchange, as mine's smoked..........Otherwise I'm afraid I can't help you my friend. I don't have a spare AF element for these saws. Finding one would be easier than getting a good jug and piston though I'd imagine. That round filter element was used on a TON of Homelite saws...

I need to get my EZ back together. Need a starter spring, fan shrowd (mine's cracked) and a P/C. I need to start going through my bud's IPL's to see what other model Homelites have a jug and piston that's compatible with an EZ so I know what to bid on...:censored:

Little possum and Eccentric:

Double-check parts numbers or models they came from on air filters for the old Homelice models. They made them in different sizes for different models... some fit more than one model, but not all models.

Little Possum, I've got 4-5 NOS air filters for the old HL's, but not sure exactly for which models. Also have a few of the E-Z saws, including a couple of parts saws. I might pull one of those for you, if the NOS ones don't match to your saw. What are you working on?... an E-Z or a ZIP?

Eggszentrik, I might have a good P/C on one of the spare E-Z's... I'll try to get time to pull them out and look them over... Might take a few days...

OMG

Thanks Ken for the useful Homelice 'log' AF info. I was under the mistaken impression that all the 'logs' of that era were the same. Gotta get an IPL for my Original-EZ before I go buying the wrong parts...

If you have a good useable P/C set that would work with my O-EZ, I'd surely be interested in them. Same would go for a good fan shrowd if you have one. IIRC, the recoil spring was broken on that saw as well. It's been so long since I've looked at it that I can't remember what (if anything) it needs for the starter setup. Gotta check later this morning...

While I'm buggin' you for Homelice parts..............do you happen to have a spare starter housing assembly for a Wiz? I may be getting a SW77 soon that has the fan showd and the cup, but nothing outboard of that. Previous owner just did the rope start on the cup trick...

Take as much time as you need. I'm not in a hurry to get this one going. The PNW GTG isn't until June 2011...

Still don't have the Mac 77 ready to sell/trade yet. Gotta get a bar clamp/adjuster assembly and some other small bits for it and give the carb setup a thorough cleaning. Man that's an involved system on that saw...

Again, I'm not sure if the starter assembly on all HL WIZ's were created equal.

I got a WIX S55 which was missing the starter assembly, just like the saw you mention. The guy fired it up with a wrap-around rope off the cup when he brought it to me. Luckily, the same guy tracked back through 2-3 previous owners and found the missing starter and brought it to me. Now I just need to re-fit the pawls and work on the inside of the cup a bit to get 'er back right again.

I also have another good used starter assembly for a Super WIZ saw, which I got before the guy brought me the original one. It doesn't match-up on the 55 and I think may fit on a 66 or 77... Again, we need to check PN's... or see if the original model paint is still on the starter...

I've got a lot of NOS Homelite parts from 1955-1982. Bought all the shelf-stock of a dealer who switched to selling european-made saws after HL (Elux?, JD?) started screwin'-over their dealers in the 1980's by making the saws in another country, selling through K-Mart and WalMart and expecting the local dealers to do the warranty work. When he quit HL, he had a big parts inventory and they didn't buy them back from him. 26 years later, he dumped all of them and six saws off on me for some honey and some money. ;) But I don't have all the lebenty-leben hunnert an' lebenty-twelve NOS parts sorted by PN's yet. I got them all dumped into five big 4'x4'x3' boxes, all mixed together... The saws were a really minty ZIP, four Super XL's, and a nice little MiniMac 35 in a good case... Maybe this Winter I'll get time to organize the old parts by numbers... meanwhile, it's sorting through mixed piles in the big boxes (kinda like bobbing for apples in a tubful of water) and seein' what you come up with...

Does that Mac 77 use the same chain adjuster as other saws in the 3-25 series?

That sounds like a hell of a lot more fun than bobbing for apples. I don't know what # chain adjuster the 3-25's used. My 77 IPL shows an adjuster that looks like what's on a 4-30, and is #19682 for the whole asembly. A fellow here has a parts 73 or 77 and is gonna send me a bar stud #19416A, and bumper spike #19752 from it.

Thanks OMG.
Ill check and see what I can find out.

And Eccentric, Mike acres has the IPL for the EZ!

I got to pull the oil tank off of mine since the plunger is frozen up.

Then gonna start working on the ZIP, it was supposed to be a parts saw, but is too good of shape to part out.

Thanks LP! Gonna go download that IPL right now. Save that Zip if you can!

Edit:

Downloaded the EZ-Original IPL from Acres site. Excelent quality. The IPL doesn't list or show the AF cartridge at all though.....surprising.

The cylinder PN is 55490. The piston PN is 55599. I'll do a cross-ref check with the 5-20 and a few other saws of that vintage to see if there's a common part. My Homelite-nut rancher friend has tons of Homelite service bulletins and IPL's, including an early 1970's listing of updated piston and cylinder PN's for SEVERAL of the older saws................INCLUDING some cross ref to older PN info. FANTASTIC stuff. Gotta burn some copies of that and scan it into the computer for worldwide usage.
