Hey guys,
Any info in general on a Mac super 55A, other then what is on Acres.

The block has 55S stamped on it.

Thanks guys!

Mac 890 gear drive. How does this look? I had this bar hanging on the
wall, it will work on here if I drill a few holes.
The bar is from a Craftsman 1200B,about 35 inch long.

Now that is one silly looking saw Cliff.
But it doe's look cool. I thought all

yours is missing.

Whats the value of pro mac 10-10's? This is the saw: http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/tls/1924011250.html

It's not working but it looks like it's good condition. I was thinking $30 shipped? Too low, to much?

I read through this entire thread last night but still didn't get the info I wanted :dizzy:

What mount do the mcculloch's have for bars? Do I have to run antique bars or can I buy a modern bar and put it on those suckers.

:jawdrop:Wow Cliff. Better plasma cut some holes in that sucker. Skeleton-ize it and it'd look more like some of the OLD bars. It's just too dang fugly the way it sits now...:dizzy:

another question I have since I've noticed chain oil goes pretty quickly and I heard some guys uses vegetables oil instead because of the cost. Is it good idea, any problem with that?
thanks

Craig's List vs. Ebay

I chanced upon a landclearing operation today. Man in charge gave me all the tree trunks for our local firewood ministry. Mostly maples 2 1/2 to 3 feet at the base. I thought this would be as good of time as any to try out my two Craig's List PM800's against my Ebay PM8200. Unlike Boda65, I can't take pictures and work too. I shot a picture of the starting lineup and the first challenge. Unfortunately, it was no contest. Ebay 8200 quit running before I could get from the truck to the log and after 10 pulls in the hot sun, I threw in the towel for it. I don't know what got into it today. Maybe on Monday, I'll figure it out and get some pictures of the saws in the wood. Both PM800's ran very well. One has a compression release (don't know if it came from the factory that way as the owner's manual and IPL do not show one and the chain guard was not designed for it like a DE80) but it was noticeably stronger and smoother than the other. May just be a tuning issue.

Sorry West Coast guys but we don't have much big or old wood left in these parts. The big diameter trees are usually hardwood that are short and squatty yard trees that might be pre-civil war and that might hit 4 feet but none of that 300 and 400 year old growth.

I kinda like it. It's different, & different is good. Kind of looks like a giant beaver tail. Could be the mutant Grand Daddy of all of those Eager Beavers out there. There would be no mistaking whose saw it was at a GTG. ;) What it needs now is a big dog from a 2-man saw.

Cant rep you, but I think that looks awesome, I would love to see a video of it. Looks like it is straight out of a horror movie.

Mac D36

I was given one of these today. It sat under the workbench in a cedar mill for twenty years. No carb but other than that it's all there. Twenty inch bar with 404 chain . Lots of crud and dust

I looked in Mike Acres site but it didn't really have a lot of information . What do I have here?
