Many of the saw comparisons are interesting to me but in my location, Stihl is about the only thing available. There used to be some Dolmars, also pro model Husky, and still are Jonsreds in one outlet. The nearest saw shops for me are in Fairbanks, but for the pro models I don't think Anchorage has much except Stihl either.

What I'm interested in is how far people have to go for a Husky, let alone a Dolmar.

Also, how does the Stihl 261 compare with the Husky 346 xPne?

I got really lucky and have the best Dolmar dealer in several states just 7 miles from my door!!!

'bout 12 miles for a Stihl, 7 for a Husky, and approx 20 for a Dolmar.
Not a Starbucks in the County though.:hmm3grin2orange:

That said, just about anything can be done with a click of a mouse these days.;)

Stay safe!

OK, I'll play :D

30km south of me is a town of 4000 with a Stihl dealer (part of a Stock and Station agency/rural/ag supplies) and a Husky/Shinny dealer (purely OPE stuff)
100km to the north is a town of around 50,000 with all the normal dealers, including a Dolmar/Makita dealership.

East is just farms and mountains and west is farms.

Oh, and no Starbucks either.
The nearest town (10km away, pop 1,000) has eight commercial espresso machines, but only about three know how to make coffee, and they'd leave Starbucks for dead. ;)

Hay now that place looks familiar! Likely the best Dolmar dealer within 100 miles.

Serves you right for living in such a big country!!! Probably about 5 or 6 miles to each dealership. Each dealer can get you any model you require from that manufacturer.

5 Stihl dealers within 12 miles. 2 of em are the big green box stores...

Dolmar/Jonsered/Makita dealer 10 miles, my preferred CAD supplier.

15 miles to an Echo dealer that's none too good, another one I've never dealt with 20 miles.

25 miles to the nearest Husky "pro" dealer - probably why I don't have any.

About 1/4 mile for Husky (but I prefer another dealer), about 1/2 mile for Jonsered, around 15 miles for Stihl (but usually no pro saws in stock), 1000 miles + for Dolmar.

Stihl- 5 miles
Husky-5 miles (dealer just dropped Dolmar)
Jonsered-45 miles
Dolmar-60 miles

.

Have you gone to Woodway on College lately? They have Huskies, Dolmars, Jonsereds, Echos, and another brand I can't think of.

the only thing we have around here is husky,,stihl and echo,,all within 15-20 minutes from here

20 miles for milk and eggs

20 miles for a Husky

40 miles for a stihl

not a clue for J-red or Dolmar, the Dolmar dealer locator shows on at 40 - never heard of the place.

Two Husky dealers, four Stihl dealers, and one Echo dealer all less than thirty miles spread out over three counties. Two of the Stihl dealers are True Value stores but their lineup includes the 660. Only the Echo dealer has any "bedside" manner, the rest are pretty much jerks. The Echo guy also heats his store with an outside wood burner. REJ2

stihl, the best is 25miles and two states away.

Husky, only know of one place and it's 30miles away, in an ace hardware store. But they do carry all the XP models.

Dolmar, whats Dolmar???:) my best guess would be at least 50 miles. I don't know.

I'm sure there's others, but these are the ones I like and are closest.

Would love to get a Dolmar dealer 'round here, thou. I've asked in to it, but haven't got any responce ,yet.
