Got some more done on the 101G,
"I guess thats what i will call it". Got
the carb mounted. Had to do some fin
cutting on the cylinder head to clear
everything. Fits nice now but the guy
sent me the wrong head bolts. But
this gives me time for the muffler.

Lee, that is so awesome!!! I duno what to say. Looks very badass!!!!!! I love it.

JJ where's my 125? :D

Lee, the 3rd exhaust mount on the head of mine isn't tapped, doesn't look like yours is either. Curious what your plan of attack is there.

Thanks Parris and everyone for enjoying this thread
and all the nice comments.
So far i'm very pleased with the outcome and hope
it runs as good as it looks.

cpr, My 3rd mffler mount hole is not threaded either.
Your suppose to put a nut on the back side of that
hole.
I haven't really figured out a muffler yet, But i looks
like i will be fabbing one up. Most of the kart ones won't
fit or they shoot the exhaust straight back. I want it
to got out. So it looks like i will be firing up the welder again.

Aha... My other one has been tapped and subsequently stripped, hence my curiosity. Simple answers are best.

Got pic(s)?

Can you do it like I did with my 850 thread insert made from a nut with the proper threads?

It should be fine with just two bolts. Might wanna plug up that hole in the back of the muffler case with the welder though.

Lee, I don't know whether you're considering a tuned pipe or a small muffler, but I have on order a two piece GEM muffler which appears to be smaller than the one piece like Ambull has and supposively has internal baffling. When it gets here (and my wife returns with her camera), I'll take some pictures for you. Since stock 125 mufflers are hard to find and expensive, I have also put some thought into fabing one from 3 1/2" round stock and tubing. If you made it in three bolt together components (not counting any baffles and deflectors) you could easily play with outlet size and location until you got it the way you want it. Ron

Lee,
It might be interesting to note (for those who don't know) how many hours of labor are involved for a project of this magnitude. How many times did you put it together and take it back apart? How long did it take just to get the fuel tank to work out? including the time to find the necessary parts after you figured out which ones to even use?
The point being that it takes an INCREDIBLE amount of time and dedication, thought, and a VERY high skill level to accomplish a project such as this. Then there is the cost of all the NOS parts that you have installed, as well as the reconditioned ones, besides the fabrication and the thought processes that go along with it! So please enlighten us to the amount of time currently expended as well as the amount of time anticipated to complete the project, I think it would be enlightening to those who do not know...
2 Things,
1. This is a thoroughly impressive project, showcasing your exceptionally high skill level, AWESOME WORK!
2. You forgot something!
Where you gonna put the 101G Sticker?
