Randy, I just needed clarificaton as my brain is all muddled up at the moment (my Mother died yesterday). I first thought you were referring to the pulse line and suggesting that I give up on it and have a beer. Then I thought you were saying what you meant. Then I thought maybe you were referring to shopboy. :msp_confused:Finally decided that I don't know what you're talking about but I ain't giving up on fixing this saw.
I'll replace the carb as you suggested and go from there. The compression question interest me because the saw runs good once you start it - just don't shut it off.
To answer your question I've never had an impulse for a beer... from the aroma I have always assumed that it is an acquired taste.

I am terribly sorry to hear about your mother, Ron. And I think we can all understand if your a bit muddled. If I remember correctly which is not always the case, but I think your compression should be higher when warm. If your compression is at 100-110psi, that is probably why it wont re-start. That is a little low. But I cant remember what a loss in compression means when its warm. It might mean new rings are in order, but I cant be sure. I will keep you in my thoughts.

Rings most likely, I had a thought about a sticky decomp, but the 8200 doesn't have one.

Thanks. It wasn't unexpected and she is better off now, but it is still a blow. Although she was very frail and I'm sure had better things to spend her energy on, she tried to help me find my Dad's big MAC he bought new in the early to mid sixties. Ron

My condolences and empathy regarding your mother's passing. I was touched by her caring in wanting to help you find your dad's chainsaw........one of many, I'm sure, great memories you have to treasure as you deal with this loss.

Ron, sorry to hear about your mom. Almost every here will out-live their parents, and will deal with the situation you are in right now. I'm sure it doesn't help much, but we feel for you.
It gets a little quite when Mark is away. The great downunder should all be up and hard at work by now so I guess we won't hear from him today. I hope a croc doesn't get him or one of those nasty stinging trees while he seeks out yet another rare MAC to share with us. :msp_scared: Ron
